Burton Head To Wembley

Burton Head To Wembley

Burton went to Roots Hall looking to see out the job against Southend United in the league two play-off final on Saturday afternoon and they did just that to book a place at Wembley.

The Brewers went into the second leg with a one-nil advantage, a 2-2 draw was enough to see them through to the final with Fleetwood Town 3-2 on aggregate with the dream of league one football for the first time in the clubs history still on.

Marcus Holness had headed Burton into the lead before two goals before half time from Ryan Leonard and Anthony Straker turned the game around.

A second half equaliser from Adam McGurk, who scored the winner at the Pirelli, meant that the two-all draw was enough to put the Brewers into the final where they'll take on Fleetwood after they beat York City on Friday night.
