Mansfield Town 1-2 Brewers
Burton's unbeaten recorded was maintained with victory in the league cup over Queens Park Rangers in midweek followed up with a win at Mansfield Town.
Tempers frayed at Field Mill on Saturday afternoon but it was the Brewers that ran out 2-1 winners at Mansfield on Saturday.
A first half, which looked set to end goalless, changed minutes before the break as Alex MacDonald (42) saw his 20-yard effort deflect in to send us into the break one-nil up.
The lead was extended, and the points it seemed wrapped up, when Callum McFadzean (71) was left with a tap in to double our lead with less than 20-minutes to play.
Mansfield quickly hit back though and Matt Rhead (75) headed home from a freekick to give the hosts renewed hope but an equaliser didn't come with Burton seeing out a two-one win.
The game ended on a sour note with Robbie Weir sent off for a headbutt two-minutes from time with plenty confronting each other in a mass brawl.
